ISM Conference 2009
International Society for Mycotoxicology

Programme

Innovative (bio-)technological solutions for the reduction of the most relevant mycotoxins that concern agrofood producers and consumers will be discussed in four scientific sessions. These will include aflatoxins and fumonisins in maize chain, trichothecenes, zearalenone and ochratoxin A in wheat and other cereal chains, ochratoxin A in grape-wine chain and aflatoxins in nuts and dried fruit chains.

The conference will also discuss recent advances in understanding fungal genomics and mechanisms controlling secondary metabolism that are leading to new ways to reduce fungal infection and inhibition of mycotoxin formation.

Plenary sessions

The plenary sessions will take place in the city hall of Tulln which is located in the historical monastery of the Friars Minor.

Presentations

Oral and poster presentation sessions will be held during the conference. Corresponding authors should indicate their preferences for oral and/or poster. Due to the great number of high level keynote lectures, the number of oral presentations, which can be accepted is, however, limited.
Abstracts submitted for oral and/or poster presentations can only be submitted electronically.
The abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee and will be selected on the basis of the quality of the science and potential level of interest to participants.

Round table discussions

The round table discussions will take place at the IFA and at the FHWN (University of Applied Science) in the Technopark Tulln.

Symposium proceedings

The Symposium Proceedings comprising the oral contribution will be published in Food Additives & Contaminants Part A (Taylor & Francis). Registered participants will be able to pre-order a copy of the Proceedings at a preferential price (details will be provided during the conference). Authors will be required to submit their manuscripts on-line via the journal's website (http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tfac) by October 1.

Best Poster Award

Three best poster awards will be presented at the closing ceremony.
